Duque is our special boy from Spain!
He is actually a son of our Chanel. She had a litter in Spain before arriving to us with USA import Innisfree's Muktuk Marsten, and the puppies turned out to be very beautiful..
We were about to borrow in a male to get some more breeding material, and the original plan was to borrow a whole different male than Duque... A couple of weeks before the male was supposed to be picked up, we got some pics of Duque, and we were immediately sold! Jouni couldn't talk about anything else than just this dog, so he was joking before he travelled to Spain that his goal was to get Duque to travel back with him.
After arriving there he called home and said that the male we were supposed to borrow was nice and good looking, but then he started to talk about how AMAZING Duque was etc.. He said also that he didn't think that it was possible to borrow him, but that he wouldn't give up yet. About 30 min later he called again and announced that our plans had just changed and that he was about to come home with Duque instead..!
Well, we are naturally more than happy to get this opportunity to have Chanel's son with us. But no-one is as happy as Chanel and Duque are, they definitely recognized each other and are just thrilled to be together!
The borrowing -part didn't go entirely according to the original plans as Joaquin and Ola at kennel Ciukci allowed us to buy Duque, so he is staying in Sweden :)
Duque will be seen in the show rings shortly and he will also be a part of our breeding program. He is the sire of our Transformers -litter.
